For approximately 120 km, from Argentat to Beynac, canoe or kayak down the beautiful Dordognevalley, rich in castles and picturesque villages.

The route crosses three of the most beautiful regions of France: Limousin, Midi-Pyrénées, and Aquitaine. The landscapes vary, ranging from the wooded hills of Corrèze to the limestone cliffs of Lot where magnificent villages cling, before ending below the castles of the Dordogne, in Périgord.

It is this idyllic setting that Safaraid Dordogne invites you to discover, for half a day, a day, a weekend, or even for a whole week.

Come and enjoy a boat trip on the Dordogne between Corrèze and Lot. Discover the villages of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Gluges, Creysse, and Meyronne, all seen from the river. A truly enchanting and liberating experience for families or friends.

You park your vehicle in Argentat: Return shuttle Brivezac -> Monceaux/Dordogne : 4:45 pm, 6:15 pm

Enjoy the uppermost part of the river and some fun rapids, where the river still has all its freshness… The minis are our smallest courses allowing you to discover the activity as a family with children or simply to come and spend a summer afternoon enjoying the unique landscapes that the Dordogneoffers us.

La Sauvage – Classic [Argentat (Monceaux) – Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne] 18 km – 3h30

If you park your vehicle in Argentat: Return shuttle Beaulieu -> Monceaux/Dordogne : 4:30 PM, 6:00 PM.
If you park your vehicle in Beaulieu: Outbound shuttle Beaulieu -> Monceaux/Dordogne : 10:00 AM.

The wildest part of the Dordogne in the Corrèze region, alternating between wooded hills and fun little rapids (class 2), including the Battut passage. Arrival at the Beaulieu/Dordogne reservoir and its magnificent chapel.

The unmissable – Mini [Vayrac – Gluges] 9 km – 1h45

€24/adult in a 2 or 3-person canoe

If you park your vehicle in Vayrac: Return shuttle Gluges -> Vayrac: 2 PM, 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM.
If you park your vehicle in Gluges: Outbound shuttle Gluges -> Vayrac: 11 AM.

This is the must-do Mini version, allowing you to discover the activity as a family with children or simply to spend a summer afternoon enjoying the unique landscapes that the Dordognehas to offer. The route passes at the foot of the Copeyre viewpoint, under the Château de Mirandol, and arrives at the Gluges bridge on the left bank.

The unmissable – Classic [Vayrac – Saint-Sozy] 18 km – 3h30

If you park your vehicle in Vayrac: Return shuttle St-Sozy -> Vayrac: 4pm, 6:30pm.
If you park your vehicle in St-Sozy: Outbound shuttle St-Sozy -> Vayrac: 10:30am.

This is a must-do at Safaraid! A route suitable for beginners that will take you past the Copeyre viewpoint and Mirandol Castle, along the Gluges cliffs. You'll cross the village of Creysse before arriving in the heart of Meyronne – Saint-Sozy.

The essential – Maxi [Vayrac – Pinsac] 27 km – 5h

This is one of the largest routes we offer for the day; they are suitable for sporty or experienced people who want to make the most of the long summer days!

Why not combine the "Must-See" and "3 Castles" routes? This is the longest route we offer for a day trip, and it's best suited for sporty or experienced hikers who want to make the most of the long summer days! Please note: there is a shuttle bus at the campsite entrance. Plan to depart before 10:00 AM.

Passing by the foot of Belcastel Castle, the route arrives 100 meters before Treyne Castle. If you have 5 minutes, feel free to walk along the riverbank to enjoy a magnificent view of the castle… The "mini" routes are our shortest, perfect for discovering the activity as a family with children or simply spending a summer afternoon enjoying the unique landscapes of the Dordogne. Please note: the shuttle bus is located by the roadside, in the alcove next to the bridge.

The Three Castles – Classic [Saint-Sozy – Souillac (Lanzac)] 18 km – 3h30

This is the quintessential Dordogne landscape: numerous cliffs and three magnificent castles perched above the river. Belcastel Castle near the Lacave caves, Treyne Castle with its Relais & Châteaux hotel, and Lanzac Castle. Arrival on the left bank at the Lanzac campsite. Note: shuttle bus at the campsite entrance.

WHAT IS MANDATORY

Be able to swim at least 25 meters, be able to submerge, be 6 years old and older, be in good physical condition, wear closed shoes, wear the life jacket provided by us.

Equipment was new and cleaned

Our team provides you with modern equipment that meets CE standards. The vests and containers are washed after each use.

Concerned about your comfort and well-being, we offer a variety of canoes and kayaks for rent, adapted to your needs.

Parking at the start or finish

Unsupervised private parking is available at each base, accommodating cars and buses. Free shuttle bus service is available for all routes

Do you need to know how to swim?

Yes, it's essential. You must be able to swim at least 25 meters, be able to put your head underwater, and have no medical contraindications.

How is the walk organized?

If you park your vehicle at our starting point:
After a briefing about the ride, you will board directly from our base and descend to the arrival point.
After your ride, we will pick you up at the time specified on your rental agreement and take you back to your vehicle.
If you park your vehicle at our arrival point (reservation required):
You will take our shuttle to your chosen starting point.
After a briefing about the ride, you will board and have plenty of time to descend at your own pace (breaks, picnics) to our base (latest arrival time: 6:00 PM) and retrieve your vehicle.

Access to Monceaux-sur-Dordogne :
Route de Beaulieu/Dordogne – Locality known as “Saulières” in Monceaux/Dordogne.

Access to Vayrac Base:
In the village, follow the signs for the Dordogne and the campsites. We are 2 km from the village, past the lake and the “Mirandol Dordogne”

Can we stop anywhere?

Yes, the river is lined with pebble beaches and banks. For a more secluded spot, there are also numerous islands. Please leave the area clean.

Present on the Dordogne since 1978, Safaraid offers rentals for half-days, full days, or multi-day trips of 2 to 7 days. Flexible options are available to suit your preferences and schedule.
