Q: How is the walk organized?

If you park your vehicle on a starting base: After a briefing concerning the ride, you will board our base directly, to go down to the finish point. After your walk, we will pick you up at the time set on your rental contract, to bring you back to your vehicle. If you park your vehicle on the finish base (compulsory reservation): You will take our shuttle which will take you to the chosen starting point. After the briefing concerning the ride, you will embark and have all the time to descend at your own pace (breaks, picnics) to our base (maximum arrival: 6:00 p.m.) and find your vehicle.

Over approximately 120 km, from Argentat to Beynac, canoe or kayak down the beautiful Dordognevalley, rich in castles and picturesque villages.

The circuit crosses three of the most beautiful regions of France: Limousin, Midi-Pyrénées, and Aquitaine. The landscapes vary, ranging from the wooded hills of Corrèze to the limestone cliffs of the Lot where magnificent villages cling, before ending under the castles of the Dordogne, in Périgord.

It is this idyllic setting that Safaraid Dordogne invites you to discover, for half a day, a day, for a weekend, or finally for a whole week.

Passage at the foot of the Copeyre belvedere, under the Mirandol castle and arrival at the Gluges bridge, left bank.

The essential – Classic [Vayrac – Saint-Sozy] 18 km – 3h30

It’s a must-have at Safaraid! A route accessible to beginners which will take you past the Copeyre belvedere and the Mirandol castle, along the Gluges cliffs. You will pass through the village of Creysse before arriving in the heart of Meyronne – Saint-Sozy.

The minis are our smallest routes allowing you to discover the activity as a family with children or simply to come and spend a summer afternoon enjoying the unique landscapes that the Dordogneoffers us. Attention: shuttle at the side of the road, in the recess next to the bridge.

This is the typical imagery of the Dordogne : numerous cliffs and 3 magnificent castles hanging above the river. The Belcastel castle at the Lacave caves, the Treyne castle and its “Relais et châteaux” hotel and the Lanzac castle. Arrival on the left bank at the Lanzac campsite. Please note: shuttle at the campsite entrance.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

Know how to swim a minimum of 25 meters, know how to submerge, from 6 years old, be in good physical condition, wear closed shoes, wear the life jacket provided by us.

Recent and cleaned equipment

Our team provides you with recent equipment that meets CE standards. Vests and containers are washed after each use.

Concerned about your comfort and well-being, we offer you various canoes and kayaks for rental, adapted to your needs.

Parking at departure or arrival

Unguarded private parking on each base, which can accommodate cars and buses. Free bus shuttle for all routes

Do we need to know how to swim?

Yes, it is essential. You must know how to swim at least 25 meters, know how to put your head underwater and not have any medical contraindications.

How is the walk organized?

If you park your vehicle at a departure base:

Can we stop anywhere?

Yes, the river is lined with pebble beaches and banks. For a wilder break, you also have many islands. Please leave the area clean.
